Capture the Right Information

What information is captured?

Capture the information you need with Mandalay’s Weighbridge Software with camera functionality. Cameras installed at the weighbridge will take photographs of the vehicle involved in a transaction from one or many angles.

   The date and time an image is captured will always be stored. Cameras could be oriented to capture:

   Vehicle registration details

   Truck load contents

   Vehicle configuration

   Weighbridge Not Required

Image Capture does not require a weighbridge to function.

   Multiple Cameras

Up to four cameras per weighbridge (or gate) are included in the standard subscription. [One subscription per weighbridge (or gate) is required.]

For a transaction that captures weights for both inbound and outbound, up to 8 images could be captured for the complete transaction (4 in and 4 out).

   Capture Function

The Store and Print ticket functions will trigger the image capture.

Dual Weigh: Inbound image(s) are captured when the ‘Store’ button is selected.

Stored Tare or Final Weigh: Images(s) are captured when the ‘Print’ button is selected.

If you wish to capture images manually, Manual Image Capture and Image Capture Alerts are both available options.

   Secure Storage & Easy Access

Images are stored securely and easily accessed via naus Transaction Search within the naus Platform.

   Image Archive

Images will be stored and archived for 7 years.

  Attach Images to a Corresponding Transaction

All cameras configured to a PC will generate an image and attach it to the corresponding transaction. Cameras cannot be isolated.

   Uninterrupted Transaction Flows

Transaction flows will continue to run smoothly and are not interrupted by the image capture function within your weighbridge software.

• Verify transactions and resolve customer queries – Attach vehicle photos and relevant details to each transaction to verify these transactions and resolve queries.
• Reduced operator errors – The automation included with Image Capture removes the risk of manual data entry, such as the wrong vehicle being attached to transaction information.
• Resolve invoice disputes –  Image capture is an effective and simple way for finance and waste teams to locate the proof they need to validate transactions and ensure invoices are paid promptly. 
• Source and identify key transaction information – Locate prior transactions easily by searching for and identifying images linked to transactions based on information such as the ticket number, date, time, and site.

• Organisation wide access to transaction information –This information is not confined to your operators and the weighbridge PCs. Access transaction information across your organisation within our cloud-based platform. You can also adjust and allocate access levels to any member of your team.
• Print individual Image Capture transactions – Obtain a physical record of all or some of your facility transactions by printing a PDF version of the transactional information and vehicle images within a single document.
• Securely stored and backed up – Depending on your chosen platform settings, all transaction records can be stored and backed up securely within the platform for up to seven days.

When utilising weighbridge software with camera functionality, existing cameras can be utilised as long as they meet the minimum standard requirements. Alternatively, Mandalay can supply and install cameras.

Cameras will need to be made available on the same network as the POS terminal /device, maintain a static IP address and be accessible via a URL on the local network.

Connection to the cameras will be configured through the Facility Product Suite Hardware Layer to automatically capture images from all cameras and store these images in the cloud.

Camera Specifications

The following are minimum requirements needed to ensure compatibility with the Image Capture module:

Minimum Requirements:

Can request JPEG image via HTTP URL request.

The size of the image returned can be configured down to at least 1080 x 720 (720p).

The images returned can be in a compressed format so that image file size is no larger than 500kb.

Recommended Requirements:

Text overlay for easy identification of camera position.

Wide Dynamic Range.

Optical zoom or options for fixed focal length lenses rather than digital zooming. This will provide a better-quality image.
